Giving Back – Colorado Friendship
A Warm Coat and a Hot Meal.
Every week in Boulder, Colorado FriendShip meets people exactly where they are. Our own Kiana Dunn is one of the volunteers who helps make that happen.

Giving Back, Wherever We Are.
DataTrends is headquartered in Atlanta, but our team and the causes they care about reach well beyond it. We believe success is measured in part by what you give back to the people and communities that make it possible, and we support our team in showing up wherever that calling leads. This series is where we tell those stories. What matters to our people and their communities matters to us.
Where the Need Is.
Colorado FriendShip is a local nonprofit that has been delivering food and clothing to people in Boulder County since 1998. It started with disaster relief and grew into something the community needs every single week: weekend food bags for kids who would otherwise go hungry, and a mobile trailer that brings hot meals, groceries, and clothing straight to the people who need them most.
That trailer program is called Meals on the Street. According to Colorado FriendShip, it serves roughly 3,000 hot meals a year, along with the coats, shoes, and supplies that come with them. The work is steady, it is hands-on, and it depends almost entirely on volunteers showing up.
A Drive for Every Season.
It started with something Kiana saw every time she volunteered: more people in need than there were supplies to go around. So she organized a clothing drive, once in October 2025 and again in June 2026, asking people to bring what they could.
They did. Coats and warm layers for the cold months, lighter clothes and shoes for the warm ones, and the small everyday things that are easy to take for granted until you are without them. By the time both drives wrapped, it came to more than a thousand items, stacked in boxes and bags and headed to Colorado FriendShip.
Out on the Street.
Kiana is a regular volunteer with Meals on the Street, handing out hot meals, clothing, and the things people need to get through a hard stretch.
The meal matters, and so does the rest of it. Showing up week after week means getting to know the neighbors most people walk past, the ones who are easy to overlook or to write off as part of the problem. You learn their names. You hear their stories. You come to know them as people rather than numbers, and in doing that you stop watching from the sidelines and become a small part of the solution.
That is what giving back looks like for us. Not a one-time check, but our team making a real difference for the places they call home.

Whether it is a meal on a cold night or the technology that runs your business, the work that matters gets done by people who show up and follow through. That is how we treat our community, and it is how we treat our clients.
This is one story in our Giving Back series, where we share how our team shows up for the people and places that matter to them. Read the other stories below, or see more of what we stand for in the community section of our About page.
